Pellet grills are actually Traeger’s invention. They developed the first pellet grill in 1985 and patented it in 1986. Ever since then, they have been dominating the market and today they are an established and trusted brand.

Louisiana Grills: A Worthy Competition

Louisiana Grills was founded in 2006, and it’s one of the most established pellet grill makers after Traeger. They have differentiated themselves from the competition and gained the trust of consumers by making quality pellet grills with advanced features at a relatively affordable price.

Like Traeger, Louisiana Grills offer pellet grills in a range of sizes that can satisfy every customer’s needs. Whether you need a small, portable grill for camping or a large grill that can feed a big group of people, they’ve got you covered.

Both grills have a powder-coated stainless steel body, but the Louisiana Grills’ body is rather thin, and it provides inferior insulation. The Traeger grill body is very thick and well insulated and the bronze finish on the lid makes it look amazing. However, the Louisiana grills still do a good job at keeping a steady temperature even in the cold weather. The Louisiana Grills have porcelain cast iron main cooking grids and a porcelain steel upper cooking grill that is removable. They are easy to maintain and provide great heat retention, but this is also the case with Traeger grills.

Besides being environmentally friendly, pellet grills are also easy to use and maintain and they allow for various styles of cooking. Both Louisiana Grills and Traeger pellet grills have nice features and offer great value for money. The Traeger grills are more sturdy, while the Louisiana Grills provide more precise heat control.
