How to Keep Celery Fresh in the Fridge
When we buy celery from the grocery store, we hardly use all of them at once. I generally grab the aluminum foil while I am shopping for the celery itself.
Finally, roll the celery in the aluminum foil and place it inside the fridge. Make sure that it’s covered from both sides. Compromised seal won’t work over here. Basically, wrap it well inside the aluminum foil before storage. Let the celery hang out in the fridge until it’s needed for use.
How long will it last?
Believe it or not, the celery that you place in the fridge will still be as crispy as the day you got it. It doesn’t get simpler than this, isn’t it? Remember, if you store the celery in the fridge without the aluminum foil, it will get too cold. As a result, the water molecules will freeze and ruin the celery. If you want them to last, store them well-wrapped in an aluminum foil as mentioned above.
I promise you that the stored celery will last you up to 4 weeks. You can also push the storage time for a little over 4 weeks, and the celery will still come out fresh and crispy. Whenever you want a piece of it, unwrap the paper towel and pull out as much as you want and restore the leftovers.
Here are some pointers that will help over here. Do not wash the celery before storage because it could retain some moisture. As a result, its shelf life will get affected. Generally, I wash the ones that I pull out as and when I put them to use. So, I do not clean them at the time of storage. Also, you can use a damp paper towel instead of an aluminum foil to wrap the celery to enjoy crisp and delicious celery at all times without worrying about wastage.
